Daniel Geesen: Award-Winning Unit Stills Photographer Based in Dublin
I study the script. As a Unit Stills Photographer, I’m aware that my images will be the first point of contact for many viewers, shaping their expectations and piquing their interest in the film. I’m passionate about capturing captivating stills that are true to the Director’s vision, and also documenting the story of the storytellers through my behind-the-scenes film stills photography here in Ireland.
My unit stills photography services include
Production Stills
Scene coverage is the heart and soul of film stills photography. As an on-set photographer based in Ireland, I capture the essence of your film in visually compelling stills, conveying key parts of the story within a single frame. I provide high-quality images suitable for posters, key art, publicity, online promotion, and continuity photography for film and television productions.
BTS Photography
Documentary style photography covering the making of Irish films and episodics. These images can be used for social media content, film promotion, EPKs, and archival purposes. I feel I’ve done well when filmmakers update their IMDb photos to be one of my portraits! I can also offer deeper looks into specific elements of the filmmaking through the creation of photo essays.
Unobtrusive On-Set Photography
I make it my priority on set to capture everything the production or art department needs without disrupting the flow of the production. I arrive on set clad in black and armed with my silent-but-deadly mirrorless Canon EOS R5, aiming to capture all of those crucial moments without being seen or heard. I nurture creativity, discretion, and respect when collaborating with Directors, talent, and the entire crew.
